Refurbishment of the existing mortuary:
The works comprised the stripping out 4no autopsy tables and sinks, removing existing ceilings and breaking out floor, together with services and replacement.
The Project:
The works comprised the stripping out 4no autopsy tables and sinks, removing existing ceilings and breaking out floor, together with services.
The new works comprised complete rewire of the room with new bender lighting, whiterock to existing walls, new suspended ceilings, new fire doors and fire stopping, 4no new autopsy tables with all services, refurbishment of existing sinks, new IPS systems and proprietary heavy duty proprietary res:- floor.
The client introduced additional works comprising of adapting and refurbishing ductwork to the ceiling and autopsy tables and installing softened water to the mortuary. This extended the contract completion date from the 19th December 2025 to the 16th January 2026.
Challenges Overcome:
The late induction of specialist ductwork and services by the client extended the completion date from 19th December 2025 to 16th January 2026. This created major disruption to coordinating new and existing trades to the programme over the festive period.
All new and existing trades were required to reprogramme their works and a 7 day working programme was implemented to ensure there was no slippage on the revised completion date.
