We were proud to support former Royal Marine Commando Mark Chisholm as he completed the Dartmoor Yomp 2026 on 11th July, raising funds for the Royal Marines Charity.
Joined by serving and former Royal Marines, their families and supporters, Mark took on the challenging route across the southern edge of Dartmoor National Park. In true Royal Marine style, participants carried approximately 30kg of kit, food and water while navigating rough moorland, woodland tracks and rocky terrain.
Here’s Mark enjoying a well-earned water break on top of The Dewerstone Rocks, with spectacular views across the landscape approximately 10 miles north of Plymouth Sound. It was a fitting moment of respite during a demanding day on the moor.
As a proud former Royal Marine, Mark recognises how fortunate he has been to come through his service without the physical or mental challenges that many veterans continue to face. His efforts helped raise awareness and much-needed funds for the Royal Marines Charity, which provides vital support to serving and former Royal Marines, veterans and their families.
Since its launch in 2008, the Dartmoor Yomp has raised more than £60,000 for the charity, helping ensure that members of the Royal Marines family can access support whenever it is needed.
We are delighted to have supported Mark’s fundraising efforts once again and congratulate him on completing another successful yomp in support of such an important cause.
