K&J carrying out boundary wall restoration works in conservation area

We’re currently carrying out boundary wall restoration works at St Nicholas Church within a protected conservation area.
Following a structural engineer’s report commissioned by Stevenage Borough Council, we were appointed to carefully dismantle and rebuild a 30m unsafe wall between the church grounds and neighbouring residential property.

The works include:

  • Making safe and dismantling the existing wall
  • Hand excavation to protect tree roots
  • Installing new concrete foundations
  • Rebuilding using reclaimed original bricks wherever possible

With conservation approvals, matching materials, and protected trees all requiring careful consideration, this project is a great example of construction working alongside heritage preservation.
